Chairman of the BIH Presidency Dr Mladen Ivanić visited London in the period 17th to 21st November 2016. During his visit, on 17th November, the Chairman met the Head of British diplomacy, Boris Johnson. The meeting was held at the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office and attended also by Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the United Kingdom Branko T. Nešković and the Head of the Department for Western Balkans Fiona Mcilwham.
Actual political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and possibility to reinstate the issue of our country’s economic progress to the focus of the political talks were discussed.
Chairman Ivanić expressed his hope that the international community and UK as the member of the Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina would endorse his efforts in his upcoming eight-month chairing term, supporting him on this path.
Minister Johnson thanked the Chairman Ivanić for his visit, saying that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the entire region, need a positive political and economic story that would encourage its citizens to build democratic institutions and a prosperous economic environment.
Chairman of the BIH Presidency emphasized that it would be very useful to organize in the coming period a joint meeting to discuss the acute issues in the region between the authorities of Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressing his expectations to receive support also from the international community for this proposal of his.
Discussing the acceleration of our country’s economic progress, the interlocutors agreed about а need to organize a large investment conference for Bosnia and Herzegovina in London next year.
During his London visit, the Chairman Ivanić paid a call to the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina where he was informed about its work and diplomatic activities aimed at presentation of our country in this unofficial capital of the global diplomacy.
